Process Gallery
MIT Museum
(Cambridge, MA)
The Process Gallery was developed working closely with the artists featured in 5000 Moving Parts, an exhibition of contemporary kinetic sculpture. After interviewing the artists, key quotes were paired with interactive experiences, allowing visitors to explore different aspects of the artists’ working style. For example, visitors could build on a multi-axis rotating base built by kinetic artist Anne Lilly; each addition affecting the motion and overall feel of the piece. Other interactive stations allowed visitors to experiment with speed as a critical artistic variable, and with bringing found objects to life through shadows and motion.
